As part of the Parallèle 14 festival

Parallèle is more than a festival. It's a comprehensive project supporting emerging international artists, actively involved in the production, distribution, and support of projects; artistic programming; training and professional integration; experiencing art with everyone; and reflecting on contemporary issues.
Parallèle comprises several areas of activity that communicate, converge, complement, and nourish one another. It's a cultivation process: a sustainable approach based on the meticulous observation of ecosystems and cycles. It's exciting, demanding, precious, and fragile.

With the Parallèle Festival, we offer you an annual collective experience in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, welcoming artists who are contributing to the renewal of artistic forms, languages, and ways of engaging with the public. This festival is an opportunity to pay attention to unexpected words and actions, to receive them and discuss them; to look at the world from a different perspective, to take a stand within it, and to defend it as we see fit.

Through dance, theatre, performance, visual arts, film, and music, we will explore inner landscapes, ancestral and nomadic connections to the land; we will explore the transformations that occur within us from childhood to adulthood; the layers of memories, cultures, and gestures that constitute us as a community, just as they define us as individuals. These memories will be palpable, from the cosmos to the intimate, from matter to movement, from unity to revolt.

There will be delicacy and fire, obsession and humor.

For a time, we may attempt to become the other and embrace their gaze, and this will leave lasting traces within us.
Collectively, we will warm one another with a positive and chosen energy: the kind that each of us can make our own and that unfolds at no one's expense.

Let's move through the city, explore the grounds, and come together within the sixteen cultural centers that are supporting us in this 2024 Parallel Festival. Their commitment to our cause is an honor and a joy! We warmly thank them, as we do every partner and artist of this fourteenth edition.
